Annemarie

Hi, ich heiße Annemarie Seidel komme aus Hamburg, bin 23 Jahre alt und 165 cm groß.
Ich mache schon so oft am Regenbogenprojekt mitgemacht wie man Finger an der Hand hat. Vor jedem Projekt bin ich gespannt, was diesmal passieren wird, denn jedes Regenbogenprojekt ist anders.
Meine 2 großen Ziele sind: die Welt ein kleines bisschen zu verbessern, also in Konfliktsituationen Wege zum friedlichen Miteinander zu finden und meine Familie glücklich zu machen.
Wenn ich mal nicht auf'm Regenbogenprojekt bin, studiere ich Medizin. Das Studium ist wirklich spannend und ich freue mich schon darauf, in zwei einhalb Jahren Ärztin zu sein.
Warum mache ich so oft am Regenbogenprojekt mit? Es bereitet mir viel Freude mit neuen Freunden aus aller Welt Regenbögen zu bauchen. Für mich persönlich lerne ich jedes Mal in den abendlichen Gruppengesprächen ein bisschen mehr, wie ich meinen Zielen näher kommen kann. Ich danke Rolf, Ellen, Jasmin, Daniel, Matthias, Klaus und Claudia recht herzlich, dass sie dieses Jahr wieder ein wunderbares Regenbogenprojekt möglich gemacht haben.

Hi, my name is Annemarie Seidel, I am from Hamburg, 23 years old, 165 cm of height.
This is already the 5th time I participate on the rainbow project. Before a project starts, I always wonder what gonna happen because every project is different.
My two main goals for life are: to make the world a little bit better as to find ways to live peacefully with one another and to see my family living happily ever after.
Back home I study medicine. I really enjoy my studies and am looking foward to be a doctor in two and a half years.
Why do I participate on the rainbow project repeatedly? First of all, I really enjoy to build rainbows with my new friends from all over the world. Personally, I learn during the nocturnal group talks how I can come closer to my goals. I thank Rolf, Ellen, Jasmin, Matthias, Daniel, Klaus and Claudia very much that they have organzied such a wonderful rainbow project.

Antonia Werner (19)

Tach allerseits.

Meinen Namen und mein Alter wisst ihr bereits schon, somit komm ich gleich zum spannenderen Teil.

Ich komme aus Jüterbog, einer kleinen mittelalterlichen Stadt im Süden von Brandenburg. Seit diesem Jahr bezeichne ich mich als frischgebackene Abiturientin und bin mächtig stolz drauf. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, einen neuen Lebensabschnitt zu beginnen. Dieses Regenbogenprojekt bildet somit für mich speziell eine „Brücke“ zwischen dem Ende der Schulzeit und dem Beginn meiner  beruflichen Laufbahn.

Meine Familie besteht aus meinen Eltern, meinem jüngeren Bruder und meinem Hund, die mir sehr viel bedeuten.

Ich bin nun schon zum zweiten Mal dabei, doch diesmal nicht aus reinem Zufall, sondern geplant. Für mich kann ich sagen, dass dieses Projekt immer wieder Neues in sich birgt, welches ich für mich persönlich erschließen bzw. dann im Alltag anwenden kann.

Dieses Jahr habe ich gemerkt, wie wichtig es ist „Du selbst zu sein“, gegenüber Menschen zu sein, um Positives zurück zu bekommen. Ein Geben und Nehmen, wie es doch so schön heißt!

Buena

I live in Kamenica (Kosovo) I study in high school and I am in the fourth grade in Gilan. My plan for the future is to study pharmacy and I am attending biology and chemistry courses, for being prepared the university, because this is my last year in high school. This was a short biography of my life.

Carolin

Mein Name ist Carolin Schulze. Ich komme aus Meißen im schönen Sachsen. Ich bin zwar nicht religiös, aber ich glaube an die Menschen. Aus diesem Grund bin ich Teil der Regenbogenfamilie geworden (2009-Kreisau, 2010-Bujanovac). Wenn ich keine Regenbögen mit baue, betätige ich mich anderweitig kreativ. Ich studiere derzeit Holzgestaltung an der Hochschule für Angewandte Kunst, Schneeberg. Vor dem Studium habe ich eine Ausbildung zur Holzbidhauerin bei der Firma SIK-HOLZ gemacht.
Ich liebe es auch, in einer großen Runde mit Freunden zu kochen.
Ich weiß nicht genau, was die Zukunft bringt… Aber ich muss auf jedenfall etwas Kreatives machen. Ich habe das Bedürfnis mich künstlerisch auszudrücken – in Skulpturen aus Holz oder in Malerei. Bin gespannt, was das Leben mit sich bringt.

My name is Carolin Schulze. I am from Meißen – a beautiful town in Saxonia (Germany). I am not religious but I believe in human beeings. Because of that I got a member of the rainbow-family (2009-Kreisau, 2010-Bujanovac). When I am not building rainbows, I am creative. I am studiing wood design at the university of applied arts, Schneeberg. Before my studies I made an aprenticeship to get a woodcarver at the company SIK-HOLZ, which build playgrounds.
I also like to cook in a big group of friends.
I don´t know, what the future will bring … But I have to be creative. I like to work with wood but I also like colors. I have to express myself in sculptures or paintings…

Danilo

After 3 weeks I learned a lot of things like standing up at 8 o clock, working so hard, singing my two favorites songs and to share a toilette with 30 people. This is my first time to see and speak with 3 people from Africa and I can imagine how people live in South Africa.
And I am happy because I met a lot of friends from Poland, Kosovo and Germany. I practiced my English language. Finding one language to talk helps in understanding an keep peace.
This experience will help me in the following years in my live. I hope so that we will meet each others again.

Esta

This is my firs time that I have participated in this kind of project. At first I want to say that this is my best adventure that I ever had in my whole life. First days were little hard for me because I wasn’t used to work that much. And sometimes I just wanted to leave all this and to go home. But there were a lot of friends who helped me to understand that I have to be more patient in my life. So now here I am still.
I am very happy that the chance was given to me to participate here because I have learned a lot of important things which will be useful in my life. Also I have learned many things about different cultures, about different way of living and also I have learned to accept and to respect the others rules and orders because the people are different from each other just like RAINBOW is one but has a 7 different colours. This could be the same with the us as people.

Henrik

I´m Henrik. Since I was 13 i gave my heart to punk rock and heavy metal music. Music and arts are necessary for me since I was a little child. Now I make an apprenticeship as a wood carver at the sik holz company in langenlipsdorf/germany. I  am very happy about this creative job. I hope I can study music or arts in the future.
at the weekend I live with my gang in berlin, where we compose music all nights long and in daytime we walk through the local parks playing street music.
I wanted to join the rainbow project because I didn’t know anything about people from Balkan and their culture.
Everywhere in the world we can find cultural and ethnic struggles. It´s my task, not only as a rock n roll musician, to build bridges and work hard for a free world.

Ich bin Henrik. Seit meinem 14. Lebensjahr habe ich mich der Punk und Heavy Metal Musik verschrieben. Musik und Bildende Künste haben mich schon als Kind begeistert. Zur Zeit mache ich eine Ausbildung zum Holzbildhauer in der Sik Holz GmbH und freue mich sehr über diesen kreativen Job. Am Wochenende lebe ich mit meiner Gang in Berlin, wo wir die ganze Nacht Musik machen und am Tage ziehen wir durch die hiesigen Parks, um Straßenmusik zu machen.
Da überall auf der Welt kulturelle und ethnische Spannungen herrschen, ist es, nich nur als Rock n Roll Musiker, meine Aufgabe Brücken zu bauen und hart für eine freie Welt zu arbeiten.

Jan

Alles fing an mit einem einfachen Anruf.
Aber erst ein Mal mein Name. Jan Hendrik Koch, das ist er. Johanna rief mich an und fragte, da noch Plätze in diesem Jahr für das Regenbogen Projekt frei waren, ob ich nicht auch mit kommen möchte. Ich war unschlüssig, jedoch war ich doch nach einiger Zeit überzeugt, dass dies eine tolle Erfahrung sein könnte. Ich musste nur noch mit Rolf, einem der Mitgründer des ganzen Projektes, reden und ich war dabei. In meiner Freizeit bastele ich gerne, natürlich nicht nur. In dieser Hinsicht habe ich viel von meinem Vater gelernt. Natürlich habe ich auch noch einen Mutter und einen Schwester. Zusammen leben wir in norden von Hamburg.
Ich selber bin 20 Jahre alt und gehe in die 13 Klasse eines Technischen Gymnasiums. Aber das ist nicht alles. Wenn ich Zeit habe gehe ich mit meinem Hund im Wald spazieren oder einfach mit Freunden laufen.
Während des Projektes habe ich viele sehr gute neue Freundschaften schließen können und auch viel über andere Kulturen lernen können. Das ist nicht alles. Alles was ich in dieser Zeit über Land, Leute, Kultur, Freundschaften und Gesellschaften gelernt habe wird mir später weiter helfen. Deswegen bin ich sehr glücklich, dass ich ein Teil dieses Projektes sein durfte und ich werde wenn ich die Chance habe auch wieder dran teilnehmen.

Johanna

Zdravo, ich heiße Johanna. Wer bin ich? – Die Schwester von Julian, der mich neugierig gemacht hat, selbst ein Regenbogenbauer zu werden. – Die große Schwester von Marlene, die gemeinsam mit mir und meiner Familie in Hamburg wohnt. Hamburg ist eine 1,7-Millionen-Einwohnerstadt in Norddeutschland. Dort sprechen wir deutsch, aber ich spreche auch noch Schwedisch, Englisch und ein bisschen Spanisch. Wer bin ich sonst noch? Ich bin 19 Jahre alt, habe gerade die Schule beendet und möchte im Herbst anfangen Medizin zu studieren. Ich lese und schreibe gerne, verbringe viel Zeit mit Freunden, lachen Musik hören, kochen und backen. Außerdem reise ich gerne. Auch wenn man vielleicht sagen kann, dass wir diesen Sommer nach Serbien gereist sind, war das Projekt doch viel mehr als eine Reise. Ich habe gemerkt, in wie kurzer Zeit fremde Menschen zu einer Familie werden. Unser gemeinsames Ziel, der Regenbogen, steht jetzt als ein Zeichen in Bujanovac. Ich habe auch gelernt, wie vorsichtig mit diesem umzugehen ist. Als dann am Tag der Eröffnung ein richtiger Regenbogen über unserem Spielplatz geleuchtet hat, habe ich Gänsehaut bekommen.
Ich bin sehr dankbar für die Zeit und werde meine Regenbogenfamilie vermissen.

Zdravo, my name is Johanna. Who am I? – I am Julians sister, he made me curious about participating in this project. – I am Marlenes sister. Together with her and my family I live in Hamburg, in Germany. The language we speak is German. Apart from this I speak Swedish, English and a little bit of Spanish.
I am 19 years old and I finished high school this year. In October I want to start studying medicine. I like to read, to write stories, to be with friends, listening to music and to travel. This summer we travelled to Serbia, but this journey was not only one journey for me. I learned that it is possible to get a new family in such short time. As a symbol for this you can find the rainbow in Bujanovac. Furthermore I learned that it is important to be careful with this new family and all its members. I am really happy that I had the chance to participate in this project and I will miss my rainbowfamily.

Julian

Mein Name ist Julian Ettemeyer (bis Sonntag noch 17 Jahre alt). Ich komme aus Deutschland, genauer aus der schönen Stadt Hamburg. Dort lebe ich zusammen mit meiner Familie: Mit meinen Eltern und meinen beiden Schwestern. Johanna, welche die älteren von beiden ist, ist auch ein Teil der Regenbogengruppe 2010.
Zuhause besuche ich das Gymnasium und komme nach den Ferien in die 12. Klasse. In einem Jahr wird also die Schulzeit für mich vorbei sein. Danach würde ich gerne Zivildienst im Ausland leisten, am liebsten in Afrika. Meine Pläne für eine Ausbildung oder ein Studium müssen noch deutlich mehr ausgearbeitet werden…
Das Regenbogenprojekt 2010 in Serbien (Bujanovac) war bzw. ist mein drittes in Folge. Ich finde es sehr interessant andere Kulturen etwas näher kennen zu lernen. Außerdem denke ich, dass dies sehr wichtig ist - es ist der Grundbaustein – damit die Menschheit in Frieden zusammenleben kann. So habe ich auch bei dem diesjährigen Projekt viel dazu gelernt. Wir Deutschen konnten einen kleinen Einblick in die Konflikte auf dem Balkan bekommen. Des Weiteren sahen wir, wie die die Menschen in Serbien leben.
Ich habe aus dem Projekt gelernt, dass Toleranz sehr wichtig ist. Denn nur so kann man etwas erreichen. Wir versuchten dies in unsere Gruppe und es eigentlich sehr gut. Auf diese Weise bauten wir das Regenbogenspielgerüst und haben eine gute Gemeinschaft mit vielen neuen Freunden geformt.         

Kai

Ich bin Kai Bathe. Vor 19 Jahren wurde ich in Potsdam geboren. 1998 wurde ich in die Regenbogenschule eingeschult. Wer hätte da gedacht, dass ich mal einen Regenbogen bauen würde …
Seit 2008 nach Ende meine Schulzeit habe ich eine Ausbildung bei SIK-Holz angefangen – dort werde ich ein Tischler.
Das Angebot bei dem Regenbogenprojekt in Bujanovac Serbien teilzunhemen habe ich gern angenommen. Ich habe gelernt, wie viel Spaß es machen kann wenn Menschen anderen Menschen helfen können und dass das was Gutes ist.
Ich habe nette Menschen kennengelernt und viel Spaß mit Ihnen gehabt. Ich habe gelernt wozu man in der Lage sein kann, wenn man in einer großen Gruppe zusammenarbeitet.

I am Kai Bathe. 19 years ago i was born in Potsdam. 1998 I started my school life in the “rainbowschool”. Nobody would have thought in that time that I once would build a rainbow on my own with friends in Serbia.
My boss offered me to participate in the rainbowproject and I liked to decided to do so.
I learned that it can be big fun when people help oneanother and that this can be something good. I have met wonderful people and it was nice having fun with them – and that sometimes it is not so important to speak a language fluently but to be prepared to communicate also without words.  I learned how much peaple can reach when they are prpared to work together and not against one another.

Lena

Mein Name ist Lena Hornitsch, bin 18 Jahre jung und… 

                                   „I’m special from my head to my toes.” … rainbowsong

Das hat mich mein erstes, dieses, Regenbogenprojekt in Serbien 2010 gelehrt. Natürlich noch viele andere Sachen wie den Umgang mit und die Kommunikation zwischen verschiedenen Ethnien und wie viel Freude eine Spielplatz machen kann. Ich bin durch Sascha Glowik, Antonia Werner und Paul Schmidt auf dieses Projekt aufmerksam geworden. Alle 3 schwärmten so sehr davon und machten mich neugierig. So bin ich zu dieser supi großen und tollen Gruppe gestoßen.
Zu Hause sind wir 3 Personen; eben eine kleine Familie. Auch bin ich desöfteren allein zu Hause und deshalb war es für mich eine Umstellung 3 Wochen lang unter vielen Menschen verschiedener Kulturen zu leben.
Anfangs dachte ich, es gäbe große Kommunikationsprobleme, doch durch die englische Sprache war das Kommunizieren miteinander kein Problem. Somit habe ich auch für die Schule viel mitgenommen.
Das Regenbogenprojekt ist großartig und ich bin stolz auf die Firma SIK-Holz aus Langenlipsdorf, einem Ort meiner Gemeinde, auf den Pastor Rolf Martin und Hans-Joachim Lohmann und auf den Leiter der Organisation „Youth alive ministries“ namens Abe, die dieses Projekt ins Leben riefen.
Danke, dass ich am Projekt teilnehmen durfte und ich möchte es auch wieder tun :)

My name is Lena Hornitsch, I’m 18 years old and

That was taught by my first, this, rainbowproject in Serbia 2010. Also some other things like dealing with different ethnic groups and the communication with them and how much happiness a rainbow playground can make.
I have paid attention to this project because of Sascha Glowik, Antonia Werner and Paul Schmidt who told me about it and made me curious about. That’s why I have met this great big and wonderful group. At home we are 3 persons, a small family and therefore I’m sometimes alone.
So the feeling of loneliness changed in these 3 weeks among many people of different cultures. At the beginning I thought there will be so many problems in communication but I thought in the wrong way. English made the communication possible. That’s why I can take my improved English and other things I learned about Serbia in school.
The rainbowproject is amazing and I am proud of the SIK-Holz company from Langenlips, which belongs to my community Niedergörsdorf, of the pastor Rolf Martin and the pastor Hans-Joachim Lohmann and also of Abe the leader of the organisation “Youth alive ministries”, who together founded this project in the 90s. Thank you for giving me the chance that I could take part in this rainbowproject and I want to do it again :)

Mercy is falling all over me… ´cause I was able to go to RainbowCamp!
My name is Lina. I´m from germany, my skincolour is white and life in a little town, Wittstock, near Berlin. My religion is christian and I still go to school. With 16 years I´m the youngest girl from the Rainbowgroup 2010.
The time at rainbow project was something really SPECIAL ;) to me.
We were people from more then 7 ethnic groups, different religions, skincoulours, countrys and age, but nevertheless we was after… hm maybe 10 minuts a group and as the first night was over I think everyone of us felt like we are a big family now, even though we are so different. That was a really good feeling. Whatever was happening, there was someone who cared about this and you. Everyone in his or her way was an important part of a big family…
It was a time with hard work, many rolls, hot sun, interessting discussions, hugs without end, finding sulutions for many problems (doesn´t matter if it was about different points of view, broken waterpipes or mouses) and seeing that everybody is special in their one way.
I learned many different little things in this project, so it is hard to say: This is it!
It´s nothing takeable, mostly I learned how to live togheter. That, even if you don´t want it, there will be problems and that it is sometimes not possible to find a sulution.
I have seen that there are still problems between the ethnic groups in Serbia and that even if they acceptet and like each other, they go separate ways.
At every day and step of this project I learned something new and I know that I will never forget this time, this experiences, this people and that everyone is special.
Looking forward for the next rainbowproject!

I am eighteen years old. I live in Bujanoc - my hometown.
My mother tongue is albanian language,but I can speak english,serbian and spanish somehow!
I live with my family in our house
My family consists of six members; my grandfather,my parents,brother ,sister and me.
I am a student in high school ''Sezai Surroi'' 4th grade.
I have been participating in many kinds of youth projects including the rainbowproject and I learnt some new thing that I didn't know before, I had an interesting experience, I made new friendships and learnt about different countries, cultures, characters, life etc...
Future ... I have no plans for the future because the time goes as fast as I have no time to think about it.
For me to be part of this project is extraordinary and really exciting!
It's my first time to participate in this kind of project; Rainbowproject, and I m glad for this, very happy in the same time.
During three weeks I learnt a lot of...I'e been living in another world , another family, another rules---so every single day was differently to me and special.
I've learnt how to play billjard, I learnt an another way how to achieve my goals etc etc.  This experience will be always in my mind!

Marco

My name is Marko MItrovic. I was born in Vranje, Serbia, 31.07.1994. I live in Bujanovac, the small town on south-east of Serbia. I go on high Medical school in Leskovac. I live with my grandparents, parents and with my brother. After high school, pharmacy technician I’m planning to go on the studies on pharmacy. My hobbies are watching television, meet with my friends, hanging out, riding bicycle, playing tennis… I finished primary Musical school, harmonic instrument.

            RAINBOW PROJECT-German’s organisation called me to take part in rainbow project. This organisation makes playground for children. This was my first time to participate in something like this. I got big experience-I saw how others live, their view on future, I checked my working ability, met very good persons, made very good friends.

Marija

Zdravo!
Zovem se Marija Antic, imam 18 godina. Zivim sa roditeljima i bratom u Ranilugu, to je selo u blizini Kosovske Kamenice. Zavrsila sam Gimnaziju u Kosovskoj Kamenici i upisala Pravni fakultet Univerziteta u Beogradu.
Volim muziku i ples, bila sam clan kulturno-umetnickog drustva ´´Radomir Popovic´´ cetiri godine ali iz odredjenih razloga morala sam da napustim folklor. Takodje sam bila clan skole za trbusni ples ali zbog visih razloga morala sam i to da napustim. Od svoje 16-e godine imam zelju da zavrsim prava i postanem advokat. Dosta vremena provodim izucavajuci prava ali i pored toga kad god je potrebno pomazem deci koja zele da bolje nauce srpski jezik i matematiku, to me dodatno ispunjava. Ne mogu reci da mi je proslost kristalno cista ali postoje stvari zbog kojih cu biti ponosna na sebe citav zivot. Takodje sam jako srecna sto sam ove godine (jul 2010.) ucestvovala u ´´Duga projektu´´ I volela bih da ucestvujem u ovakvom projektu opet. Meni je ovo prvi put da budem clan neke organizacije poput ove. U pocetku sam mislila da necu izdrzati jer nikad pre nisam imala prilike da radim ceo dan na suncu i posao kao sto je bila izgradnja igralista, ali nakon nekoliko dana shvatila sam da zapravo sve to moze biti jako zanimljivo na svoj nacin. Naucila sam mnogo toga sto se fizickog rada tice ali I dosta o zivotu jer sam zivela tri nedelje sa razlicitim ljudima, susretala se sa razlicitim pogledima na svet kao I sa razlicitim razmisljanjima o zivotu. To mi dosta pomaze I znam da ce mi biti od koristi. Zbog toga i svega ostalog zelela bih da zahvalim svima koji su organizovali sve ovo i naravno Bogu koji je dozvolio da se ja nadjem ovde. Hvala jos jednom i bila bih zahvalna ukoliko budem ucestvovala i sledeci put.

Hello!
My name is Marija Antic, I am 18. I live with parents and brother in Ranilug, that is village near Kosovska Kamenica. I finished Gimnazy in Kosovska Kamenica and enrolled University of Law.
I love music and dance, I was member of cultural-tradicional folk dance ´´Radomir Popovic´´ for four years but because of some certain reasons I had to leave it. Also I was member of school for abdomen dance but because of greater reasons I had to leave that too. Since my 16 years I have wish to become a lawer. A lot of time I spend learning about law but beside that I help to children which want to know more about serbian language and maths, that makes me feel great. I can not to say about my life totally cristal but there are some things which will make me proud of myself all life. I so happy too because this year I took part in Rainbow project (July 2010.) and I would love to participate in project like this again. This is my first time to be member of some organization like this. In beginning I tought that I could be able to do something like build playground or working all day on sun, but after few days I saw that all of this may be funny on its own way. I have learned a lot about fisycal work, about life, because I lived with different people for 3 weeks, met with different views on the world and different reflections about life. That help me a lot and I know in future I will have benefit from that. Because of that and the other things I would like to thanks everybody who organized all this and certenly to thanks God who allowed me to be here. Thanks again and I hope that I will participate in this project again.

Marta

I’m Marta. I am 19 years old. I come from Poland. I’m very optimistic person. I see everything in bright colours. I have many hobbies. I tried many things in my life. If I would have to describe myself using only one word, it would be VOLUNTEER. I belive, that I’m able to help those, who have bigger problems than I do. I am working as a clown in Dr. Clown foundation. I’m going to hospitals, to children with cancer. Everytime I’m smiling into Death’s face. I wear red nose, make baloon animals, juggle, make magical tricks. I’m giving children hope, that there is another reality apart from world full of pain, weakness and uncomfortable situations, world full of magic. World, where clowns live.

I’m volunteering in pet shelter. I’m giving dogs basic training and help them rebuild trust in humans. This way they have bigger chance to find home.
I love drawing, cooking travelling and reading. I would like to understand the world.
My first rainbowproject changed my life. I understood how much I can do, I opened to another people. I understood how I can make my dream about travelling come true. How to meet wonderfull people. Because I took so much from first project, I thought, that it’s only little left for me to learn. I was really wrong. I met interesting people from different cultures, and defferent points of view. I discussed about different religions, and system of knowledge and power. After this 3 weeks I feel richer inside. But I still have feeling that I can learn more.

Milena A.

Hi!!!! Whats up man :D
My name is Milena Andrejevic, and I live in Bujanovac-Bujanovacka Banja. I was born in Gnjilane, 3.11.1992. I go in high economical school- IV year. I live with my parents, and with my older brother in family house. After high school I’m planning to study in University of acting art in Belgrade, because that is my hobby and the biggest priority in my life beside school. I am member of the most non government organisation in Bujanovac, and I’m active in the lot of projects. A rest of my free time I spend reading books, sleeping, hanging out with my friends… All in all my life is not more different than life of lot of teenagers.

RAINBOW PRIJECT-I’m glad that I’ member of rainbow project, and I’m glad too because I spent 3 weeks with a very good persons. I learnt a lot and I will remember forever on my rainbow family. Thank you for all!!!

Rainbow project is project in that is my first volunteer work I participated in. Occupacion of this project is human work, because in the future I will work with kids. Rainbow project is I can freely say my aim for my future work. I have met different people, from different religion backgrounds found out a lot about their culture and a way of living. I will make my effort to participate as much as I can in this kind of project in future.

This is my second project in wich i participate as voloteer whit AWO organization, because three years ago i particpated am similar project in Croation and it was really interesting to learn about different cultures. and also this year in Bujanovac I enjoyed in this project with friends from Serbia, Kosovo, South Africa, Germany and Poland. this is mz second volunteer work and I'm very satisfied and proud because im part of one special project that in some way gives a better chance for friendships between different nations and cultures in Kosovo. I found ut about different believes, cultures, laws, way of living, about inhabitans and so on.. It was experience that halped me a lot and it will help me in realization of different sense about people from another countries and help me in erasing fake stereotype and prejudjce. This was experience I will alwazs remember and I hope that in the future another Rainbow Project will bring us together again.

a lost soul searching for enlightment.
seeing the ''world'' through a looking glass, seeing truth that blinds others
waking others that ignorantly sleep, to realise that they fallen into a system of control of our beliefs,
a system based on thin air,that wants us stay at the bottom of the pyrimid,selling our freedom for slavery.
but when they realise who they truly are, they break free of the restraints of the ''physical world''.
When they start to believe in themselves, and erase every thought of fear(negativity) and replace it
with love (positivity), they will begin to create and not destroy, when they ignore illusions that distract us,
and listen to their inner voice that guides them to their destiny, when they are found they realise
the only truth is love, everything else doesn’t exist.

My name is Sean. I was born in South Africa, I am a mix of Irish, South African, Ukrainian and German blood.
I grew up in a multi-culture area, where poverty and organised crime ruled the streets, always searching to fit in I have had experiences ranging from street life to community work, I have seen my ''friends'' come and go, I have been taught life lessons the hard way, I have realised it was all worth it, because I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t have got my wake up call, I want to thank Rolf for giving me this opportunity and especially the time during the last week of the rainbow project, where he made me aware of what I didn't know or could understand, THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME A CHANCE AND NOT JUDGING ME:-)
but most of all I want to thank George Meyer (my pastor in South Africa), for everything he has done for me and taking me from the dark into the light.

Valon

So, mein Name ist Valon Ramadani, ich bin 19 Jahre alt. Ich bin Albaner und komme aus Buajonvac in Serbien.
Ich bin in Serbien geboren, habe aber 14 Jahre lang in Deutschland gelebt. Ich ging dort zur Schule und war sehr gut und hatte Schulkameraden in Deutschland. Jetzt bin ich seit 5 Jahren hier in Serbien. Ich vermisse Deutschland sehr. Ich gehe in Bujanovac auf's Gymnasium. In einen Jahr werde ich mit der Schule fertig sein.
Ich habe fünf Geschwister, alle leben in Serbien, sie gehen dort zur Schule und sie sind alle gesund. In Bujanovac, Serbien habe ich viele gute Freude gefunden.
Ich finde es eine tolle Sache am Regenbogenprojekt mit zu machen. Du lernst etwas Schönes wie neue Freundschaften knüpfen, lernst Städte, Menschen und Kulturen kennen, trainierst deine Disziplin und außerdem lernst du Wege zum friedlichen Miteinander zu finden. Ich danke Klaus, Claudia, Matthias, Rolf, Ellen, Jasmin und Daniel, dass sie so ein schönes Projekt ermöglicht haben!
Meine Ziele sind Elektro-IT-Technologie und Informatik sowie Deutsch und Englisch zu studieren.
Weitere Ziele von mir sind in meinem Leben Frieden in die Welt zu bringen, Kinder fröhlich zu machen und ein glückliches Leben zu führen.
Ich helfe gerne anderen Menschen, die in Not sind und Hilfe benötigen. Das sind meine Ziele in meinen Leben für mich und glaube sehr daran.
Ich möchte gerne Kulturen kennen lernen und durch die ganze Welt reisen.

Waldi

Mein Name ist Waldemar, meine Eltern sind Olga und Waldemar Sperling. Ich bin geboren in Prischib, es ist in der Nähe von Omsk, dort wo der Irtisch fließt, Russland, Sibirien.
Dies ist mein drittes Projekt. In jedem Regenbogenprojekt wachse ich über mich hinaus oder tief in mich hinein und bekomme durch reflektieren mit der Situation und den Problemen immer tiefere Wurzeln, dich mich am Boden halten. Gleichzeitig geben sie mir Energie, um mich nach Neuem auszustrecken. Dieses Projekt brachte für mich viele Spannungen und Entspannungen zwischen Personen, Charakteren, Kulturen, Vorstellungen und Zielen. So wie Höhen und Tiefen der Freude. Es gab einen abwechslungsreichen Klang. Alle Tasten vom Klavier wurden gespielt. Es war ein segenreiches Projekt in dem mir Gott neue Freunde und einen Regenbogen schenkte. Ich bin sehr dankbar für diese Erfahrungen.

With every project I grow and learn about myself, while reflecting the situation and the problems, I got deeper roots, which keeping me down and at the same time give me power to grow. This project brought for me many tensions and extensions between persons, cultures, characters, imaginations of the future and aims. Ups and downs of joy. We had various sounds, all the keys of the piano we played. It was a blessed project in which God offered me new friends and a beautiful rainbow. I appreciated it.

my experience of the rainbow project was very special. It is an experience i am happy to say that i will cherish for as long as i can.

I know about my history as a South African - the separation between people of colour and white people- but i never thought i would experience something similar to it; or even better i never thought that i would have a role in helping to end the struggle and bring peace. The rainbow project gave me that opportunity; it took me a step back to life so i can find my way forward and more important i have learnt to appreciate what i have.

After realising the situation in Bujanovac- how ethnic groups are separated (Serbians, Albernians and Romans), i saw hope for them. of cause it´s going to be hard work but if South Africans could do it - people of colour and white people living together in peace, no discrimination or hatred from each other- so can THEY. The rainbow for me is a catalyst in making the future a better place for these people.

Not forgetting my family for the past two weeks and a couple of days. If there’s one thing that i learnt from them, it is to give love. They showed me love in happy times and not so happy times, in times when we disagreed and those times when we got along so well like fish and water. In times when i needed help they were there, when i needed my daily dose of laughter they provided that for me, when i needed to smile in the midst of reasons to frown they made that possible, and when i needed a home they took me in. I consider them my new brothers and sisters. So this is what i have learnt from these past two weeks that love ties us all together.

Mzolisi Funani  - 

26 years ago the Lord created a special individual to bring about change in the world. The Lord decided to instill qualities in this individual so that he can carry out the task that was set for him. Some of the qualities are good swimming skills, motivational speaking skills and the love for working with the youth.

God set path for this individual, before He created me. It was odained that he would be in a family of five, two brothers and lovely parents. Along the way there would be challenges that he would face and come out the other side as a strange person. This brings up the question ''Are we who we are because of our experiences''

And the Lord named him Mzolisi (which means peace). One of the experiences that was set for him along with the others -is the rainbow project where he would meet a lovely multiracial group who came together to bring about peaceful change in Bujanovac. This is one of the most important parts of my life. It changed some views I had about different culture and it was also a learning curve in my life.

Vor 26 Jahren hat Gott einen besonderen Menschen geschaffen, der die Welt verändern sollte. Gott entschied, diesem Menschen besondere Gaben zu verleihen, damit er seine Lebensaufgabe gut erfüllen könne. Einige dieser Gaben sind gut Schwimmen zu können, motivierende Reden zu halten und Freude an der Arbeit mit Jugendlichen zu haben. Gott hat diesem Menschen seine Lebensaufgabe gegeben, bevor Er ihn erschaffen hat. Dieser Mensch sollte in einer 5-köpfigen Familie, 2 Brüder und liebevolle Eltern, aufwachsen. Auf seinem Lebensweg würde dieser Mensch schwierige Aufgaben bewältigen müssen, um als gewandelte Persönlichkeit aus diesen Situationen hervorzugehen. Es stellt sich die Frage: Sind wir wer wir sind aufgrund unserer Erfahrungen?

Gott nannte diesen Menschen Mzolisi, was „Frieden“ bedeutet.

Eine Erfahrung, die ihn neben anderen erwartete, war das Regenbogenprojekt. Er lernte dort eine wunderbare multikulturelle Gruppe kennen. Diese Gruppe war zusammen gekommen, um eine friedvolle Veränderung nach Bujanovac zu tragen. Dies war eine der wichtigsten Erfahrungen in meinem Leben. Es hat meine Sichtweise auf verschiedene Kulturen verändert und es war auch eine Lernstation in meinem Leben.
