Start ins Familienwochende

16.7.2010 Start into the weekend
The friday already had the taste of the coming weekend. The group was expecting to be seperated into the different families of the new friends. Every guest would have to experience the way of life in serbian and albanien families with different cultural ethnic and religious backgrounds. The hosts would experience how it is to have "international guests" at their homes. Then in our day to day plan we had to make some changes: The workinggroups had ended the main construction of the rainbow. Now the groups started to work with some details - fixing boards for platforms and create constructions for the bridge-ropes.
The heat was terrible but with the help of cold watermelons the working-youth could cope and Klaus was satisfied with their work.
Claudia prepared the value-stones which is a very loud and dirty work - but finally everybody will be happy with the results when they will be fitted in the way and exposed to the publik. Matthias started with a new "culture-projekt"- The C-group is going to visit special and important places of the area Bujanovac to reflekt the frames of social life and prepare a little documentary movie. Friday they visited the Hodja at the local mosc-congregation. The Group was very impressed by him and everybody learned a lot about the regional muslim tradition - also the serbian participants which did not take the opportunity to visit before.
The kitchengroup prepared the Food and cleaned the kitchen for the weekend. The toilets and the other community rooms had been cleaned the day before. So we were prepared to go into the weekend.
The exitement within the group was high - they had to leave the "rainbow-home" and turned into different roles - some would be hosts some would be guests. How would that be to have international friends in the families and groups of friends at home? How would it be to enter the "foreign" culture and to behave correctly? Everybody was prepard to do the best to make it a comfortable an nice weekend.
After the group left the leaders went through the rooms. There were a number of halve used waterbottles and chocolates and so on and waste all over the rooms - no difference between the boys and girls. Thre will have to be a learning process started to make everybody prepared to put more efforts in the keeping of the home.
